Book synopsis
The theme of alienation is explored in five of Peter Weiss' prose works. In each of these works alienation is portrayed through the individual figure's relationship to the world. It is a world characterized by self-preoccupation, cruelty, meaninglessness, and separation. The relationship of the characters to this world is examined in terms of four different levels of experience.
