For the first time, winning authors will be supported with Gold Open Access publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\r\n\r\n<section data-loaded class=\"tam tam--ltr remove-spacing\" data-block=\"appeal\/text-and-image\">\r\n  <div class=\"tam__container\">\r\n    <div class=\"tam__content\">\r\n              <div class=\"tam__image\">\r\n                      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.peterlang.com\/app\/uploads\/2021\/07\/pexels-life-of-pix-8264-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Person typing on keyboard\">\r\n                  <\/div>\r\n          <\/div>\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"tam__block wysiwyg\">\r\n      \n\n<p>Peter Lang Publishing is delighted to announce the <strong>2023 Peter Lang Emerging Scholars Competition in Indigenous Studies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals are invited from emerging scholars in <strong>Indigenous Studies <\/strong>for single-author books to be evaluated by a distinguished editorial board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals should be submitted to <strong><a href=\"mailto:editorial@peterlang.com\">editorial@peterlang.com<\/a><\/strong> or via our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peterlang.com\/de\/wettbewerb-fur-nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">webform<\/a> by <strong>30 September 2023 <\/strong>and consist of an abstract (including chapter synopses), a sample chapter (5,000 to 10,000 words in length), a CV, and a statement describing how you are an emerging scholar, in separate Microsoft Word documents. Proposals under review elsewhere should not be submitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winner(s) will be offered a <strong>Gold Open Access<\/strong> contract for their book. Winning book(s) will be made available for free digital download as part of our efforts to increase accessibility. Planned manuscripts should be from 40,000 to 80,000 words in length and written in English. It has been held every year since 2011, in fields such as Black Studies, Irish Studies, Women\u2019s Writing, Education, French Studies, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In each competition, book proposals for monographs are invited from emerging scholars to be evaluated by a distinguished editorial board. Winners receive a contract for a fully funded book and the title of winner. Runners-up and other participants may also have opportunities to publish.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re proud to have a community of over 30 winners of the competition over the years, and we\u2019re pleased to feature some of our winning books. She holds a Ph.D. in Latin American literature from the UCLouvain university and is a scientific collaborator at the same university. Newly arrived in North America from Scotland, he is based in Dundas, Ontario, Canada.
