Dogs have been man's best friend for 7,000 years, Peter Lang series editors find

A dog tooth dating back 7,000 years has been found near Stonehenge, reports David Jacques, co-editor with Graeme Davis of the book series Studies in British Mesolithic and Neolithic, and project director for the dig at Blick Mead near Stonehenge. The dog originated in Yorkshire and must have travelled 250 miles with his owners to the location, providing evidence of the importance of the Stonehenge site long before the monument was built.
