%X Some months ago, when it became clear that the first issue of the Zeitschrift für Wortbildung/ Journal of Word Formation (ZWJW) would appear in spring 2017, the idea was born to start with a Special Issue edited by members of the Editorial Board. We chose “Zusammenbildungen/ Synthetic compounds” as the topic for this Special Issue and began our editorial work.
