N2  - Italy in Translation: Institutional Tourism Discourse through the Lens of the DIETALY Project explores how Italy has been linguistically, culturally, and visually constructed for foreign audiences through institutional tourism discourse. Drawing on the results of the PRIN DIETALY research project, the volume examines English-language tourism materials produced between 1919 and 1959 by the Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT) and other national and local institutions. Through a series of national and regional case studies, it highlights the role of institutional discourse in mediating cultural values and in constructing images of Italy and its regions in relation to broader historical, political, and socio-economic transformations.
