%X Issues of immigration remain fresh in the minds of many Americans whose lives are impacted in some form or other. Schooling is a public space where this impact is most often inevitable. Literature is one medium in which children are given a representational view of immigrants’ lived experiences. This representation may or may not be positive. This book analyzes how forms of representations are presented in seventeen children’s literature novels, looking particularly at how issues of race and class affect, or influence, these representations.
