Many publications were dedicated to him around 2014 to commemorate his death in 814, and a whole group of scholars united in the “Bristol Charlemagne: A European Icon” project has published a series of focused studies on Charlemagne in English, Latin, French, German and Dutch (by myself), and Spanish literature.
