The series, seeking to present the richness that this expansion of points of view constitutes, will welcome studies making it possible to confront the data and the observations of research centered on the linguistic system with those of studies exploring other areas of research on the operation of language in specific contexts: the area of acquisition, the area of teaching/learning, the area of different types of variation, diachronic, diatopic, diastratic, oral/written, etc. All the volumes published in the series «GRAMM-R» will be subject to double blind peer review. La collection « GRAMM-R. Études de Linguistique française » a pour but de rendre accessibles les travaux de linguistique française, en tenant compte, à la fois, des grandes théories linguistiques, de la multiplication des recherches dans des domaines connexes et de la diversification des points de vue sur le langage. At the heart of how citizens, governments, and the media interact is the communication process, a process that is undergoing tremendous change. Never has there been a time when confronting the complexity of these evolving relationships been so important to the maintenance of civil society. This series seeks books that advance the understanding of this process from multiple perspectives and as it occurs in both institutionalized and non- institutionalized political settings. While works that provide new perspectives on traditional political communication questions are welcome, the series also encourages the submission of manuscripts that take an innovative approach to political communication, which seek to broaden the frontiers of study to incorporate critical and cultural dimensions of study as well as scientific and theoretical frontiers. New International Studies in Applied Ethics is a series based at Leeds Metropolitan University and associated with Virginia Theological Seminary. The series examines the ethical implications of selected areas of public life and concern. Subjects considered will include, but are not limited to, medicine, peace studies, international sport and higher education. The series aims to publish volumes which are clearly written with a general academic readership in mind. Individual volumes may also be useful to those confronted with the issues discussed in their daily lives. A consistent emphasis is on recent developments in the subjects discussed and this is achieved by publishing volumes by writers who are foremost in their fields, as well as those with emerging reputations. Both secular and religious ethical views may be discussed as appropriate. No point of view is considered off-limits and controversy is not avoided. The series includes both edited volumes and single-authored monographs. Submissions are welcome from all scholars in the field and should be addressed to either the series editor or the publisher. Contrary to certain preconceptions concerning globalisation, the phenomenon is not a recent one. In the past, many regions around the world have been incorporated into a dominant social and economic system at varying rates and to varying degrees. Their history has also become the history of Europe for which these regions have become so many “Overseas”. This collection is open in part to works dedicated to these Overseas regions and in part to works on their relationships with Europe. The aim of the collection is to bring together works concentrating rather on cross-perspectives than readings based on radical, generally univocal confrontations. Alongside these monographs and collective research works, the collection also makes room for the publication of documents and work tools designed not only to contribute to changing these problems but also to make it easier to exploit as yet unknown or little known sources. Michel Dumoulin (Université Catholique de Louvain) and Patricia Van Schuylenbergh (Royal Museum for Central Africa and Université Catholique de Louvain) are managing the collection with the help of an editorial committee. Malgré certaines idées reçues au sujet de la globalisation, celle-ci ne constitue pas un phénomène récent. Au fil du temps, les différentes parties du monde ont été intégrées, selon des rythmes et une amplitude variant de l’une à l’autre, à un système économique et social dominant. L’histoire de ces régions est aussi devenue celle de l’Europe pour laquelle elles sont devenues autant d’Outre-Mers. C’est aux travaux consacrés à ces Outre-Mers, d’une part ; aux rapports qu’ils ont entretenus avec l’Europe, d’autre part, que cette collection est ouverte dans le souci d’accueillir des approches privilégiant les regards croisés plutôt que les lectures fondées sur des confrontations radicales le plus souvent univoques. Au côté de monographies et résultats de recherches collectives, la collection ménage une place aux éditions de documents et aux instruments de travail destinés à contribuer au renouvellement des problématiques mais aussi à faciliter l’exploitation de sources peu ou pas encore connues. La collection est placée sous la direction de Michel Dumoulin (Université catholique de Louvain) et Patricia Van Schuylenbergh (Musée royal de l’Afrique centrale et Université catholique de Louvain) secondés par un comité éditorial.

Warsaw Studies in Contemporary History

Reconsidering the Cold War historiography’s focus on high politics, conflict and confrontation, this series encourages the development of new research that explores ties and similarities transcending the political divide in Europe. It also welcomes new approaches to the history of Central and East European societies under dictatorships: approaches which shed light on individual and collective agency and show high politics as only one of several factors of change. Research in contemporary history still often mentally maps Europe as divided into a West and an East. This overemphasizes barriers between people who often shared similar values and tastes, practices and technologies, between interrelated social phenomena or just neighboring regions. In a similar way, narratives of Central and Eastern Europe often tend to reflect a simplistic vision centered on the conflict between the “regime” and “society”. This overemphasizes the role of crude domination and hinders understanding of the reproduction, evolution and normalization of European communist regimes up to 1989. We seek contributions that employ approaches from history, especially those which integrate insights gained from neighboring disciplines, such as sociology, anthropology, political science, or cultural and gender studies. Discussions of comparative and transnational perspectives are particularly welcome. From Vol. 4 onwards, the series continues as Studies in Contemporary History .

Regular publications in the series «International Financial Relations» will ensure promotion of individual or collective works whose main themes are the ones with which Robert Triffin was particularly associated (the European Payments Union, the creation of Special Drawing Rights, the European Monetary System), as well as addressing the new problems which the international monetary system will be confronting at the dawn of the 21st century (external effects of the European Economic and Monetary Union, new tasks for the International Monetary Fund, prevention of financial crises, etc.). La « Fondation internationale Triffin », établie près l’Institut d’études européennes de l’Université catholique de Louvain (Belgique), s’est fixé pour objectif de constituer un centre dédié à la poursuite du travail scientifique et à la valorisation de l’héritage intellectuel de Robert Triffin (1911-1993) sur le système monétaire international, et plus généralement dans les domaines de l’économie, de la finance et des sciences sociales. Les publications de la collection « Relations financières internationales » assurent la promotion de travaux individuels et collectifs dont les thèmes centraux sont ceux auxquels Robert Triffin était particulièrement attaché – l’Union européenne des paiements, la création de Droits de Tirage Spéciaux, le Système monétaire européen. La collection accueille également des ouvrages qui abordent les futures difficultés auxquelles sera confronté le système monétaire international à l’aube du XXIe siècle, tels que les effets extérieurs de l’Union économique et monétaire européenne, les nouvelles tâches du Fonds monétaire international ou la prévention des crises financières. The «International Triffin Foundation», hosted by the Institute for European Studies at the Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium), has the objective of establishing a centre dedicated to the continuation of the scientific work and the intellectual legacy of Robert Triffin (1911–1993) in the field of the international monetary system, and more generally in the areas of economics, finance and the social sciences. Critical Literacies and Language

One of the most fundamental aspects of a just society is the right to create equitable and inclusive spaces of belonging for all people while also confronting injustice and oppression. However, we are now in a time where seeking justice and equity is met with neoliberalism, which pervades the academy at all levels of education. Yet, for many, this is not a time for retreat, but rather a moment of solidarity, a time to create new knowledge and understanding through struggle. As Freire wrote, "Knowledge emerges only through invention and re-invention, through the restless, impatient, continuing, hopeful inquiry human beings pursue in the world, with the world, and with each other." Thus, the purpose of this series is to provide literacy and language researchers, practitioners, as well as community activists, with a space to actualize and embody a restless, impatient never-finished objective of critical literacies and language education. It is the aim of this series to create a space to share research that promotes pedagogies of equity. We also recognize that different audiences have different needs. To that end, we seek to provide, when applicable, a "notebook" as a companion to research volumes to facilitate actionable steps for the PK-12 classroom or community spaces. This series is different as it approaches the dissemination of critical work from a place of intentionality to address the gap in disseminating research (typically read by scholars) and the need to have it "on the ground" for classroom teachers, community activists, and workers. By creating companion volumes (where applicable), there is a greater chance for sustained criticality in literacy education.

Series founded by Marc Mormont The EcoPolis series is dedicated to the analysis of changes that occur simultaneously in society and the environment when the latter becomes a fundamental concern. For a long time the environment was defined as being external to society, like the world of nature and ecosystems which serves as a material foundation for social life. Thus the aim of environmental policies has been to "preserve", to "protect" or even to "manage" that which was seen as a sort of infrastructure of our societies. After several decades of environmental policy, nature and the environment have become objects of government and it is seemingly within the same movement that each society models its environment and shapes itself. This dialectic will be central to the series. Collection fondée par Marc Mormont Depuis sa création en 2002, la　collection　EcoPolis analyse les changements qui se produisent simultanément dans　la société et dans l’environnement, quand celui-ci　fait l'objet d'une préoccupation　majeure. Au fil des volumes, la collection suit l’évolution des problématiques　environnementales, en interrogeant la manière dont ces　dernières sont devenues consubstantielles　des questions économiques, sociales et politiques. L’environnement　a longtemps été défini comme extérieur à la société, comme un monde où la　nature et les écosystèmes constituent le soubassement　matériel de la vie sociale.　Les politiques d’environnement avaient alors pour but de　« préserver », « protéger », voire « gérer » ce　qui était pensé comme une　sorte d’infrastructure de nos sociétés. Après　quelques décennies de politiques d’environnement, la nature et l’environnement　sont devenus des objets de　l’action publique et il apparaît que c’est dans un　même mouvement que chaque société modèle son environnement et se construit　elle-même. Cette　dialectique prend une importance accrue quand les sociétés se　trouvent confrontées, du fait de la montée en puissance des changements　globaux, aux　transformations irréversibles de l’environnement (changement climatique, perte de biodiversité, etc.). C’est le rapport　entre la dialectique sociétés / environnement et ces transformations que la collection　entend　explorer.

Literarische Texte gehorchen eigenen Konstruktionsprinzipien. Diese wandeln sich nicht nur im Laufe der Zeit, sondern auch innerhalb einer Epoche und im Werk eines Autors. Die Reihe Ästhetische Signaturen möchte den genuin ästhetischen und poetologischen Gehalt von Einzeltexten, Werken einzelner Autorinnen und Autoren und literarischer Epochen herausstellen. Sie macht es sich mit der Untersuchung der spezifischen Merkmale von literarischen Texten zur Aufgabe, die ästhetische Signatur von Werken und Werkgruppen herauszuarbeiten und über die Jahrhunderte hinweg zu vergleichen.

Pastoralpsychologie und Spiritualität

In der Reihe "Pastoralpsychologie und Spiritualität" versammeln sich wissenschaftlich fundierte Arbeiten, die aus der Vernetzung von Wissenschaft und vielfältiger Praxis hervorgehen: in Gemeinden und Schulen, in Beratung und Psychotherapie, in Geistlicher Begleitung, in Diakonie und Caritas, in weltkirchlicher Solidaritätsarbeit. Humanistas españoles

La colección Humanistas españoles está dedicada desde 1991 a la edición textos de autores del Humanismo de los siglos XVI y XVII, ya sean españoles o tengan una relación, por su vida o por su obra, con España. Los autores y obras, en lengua latina o en castellana, que componen esta colección son inéditos o solo conocidos por ediciones de la época humanística. Por ello se presenta una edición crítica, acompañada de traducción en caso de tratarse de una obra en latín, con introducción sobre el autor y la obra, con dos tipos de notas, unas paleográficas y textuales, y otras con abundantes comentarios de contenido. Cada monografía se completa con sus correspondientes índices de antropónimos, topónimos y pasajes citados. La localización y estudio de manuscritos y ediciones en archivos y bibliotecas ha permitido recuperar y editar, de manera accesible, obras y autores poco conocidos de notable influjo cultural en España y Europa.
