Colloquia Baltica

Die Bände der Reihe Colloquia Baltica möchten zur guten Nachbarschaft zwischen Deutschen und den Völkern des Ostseeraumes beitragen. Colloquia Baltica versammelt Arbeiten über die Beziehungen von Deutschland und Polen, Finnland, Litauen, Estland und Lettland, aber auch Russland, der Ukraine, Tschechien und der Slowakei. Die Autoren behandeln in erster Linie Themen aus Geschichte und Literatur, die sich mit Landschaft, Sprache und Architektur zum Gedächtnis in Zeit und Raum verbinden – einem Gedächtnis, das weder Krieg noch Flucht, weder Vertreibung noch Umsiedlung zerstören können. Dabei geht es nicht um rückwärts gerichtete Erinnerungspolitik aus nationaler Perspektive, sondern um die Vielfalt historischer und gegenwärtiger Beziehungen im östlichen Europa. Erfahrung in Raum und Zeit verhilft zu Selbst-Bewusstsein, zur Einsicht in die eigenen Möglichkeiten, das eigene Vermögen, die Welt zu gestalten. In diesem Sinne möchten die Monographien, Tagungsbände und Anthologien der Colloquia Baltica dazu beitragen, dass das europäische Haus mit Leben erfüllt werde, dass die Bürgergesellschaft sich entfalte. Ein demokratisches und geeintes Europa ist es, dem Autoren und Herausgeber der Colloquia Baltica das Wort reden.

Ars Musica. Interdisziplinäre Studien

Innerhalb der Schriftenreihe ARS MUSICA. Interdisziplinäre Studien wird die Musik sowohl in ihrer inneren Struktur und in ihrem Sein als auch in ihrem kulturellen und sozialen Kontext analysiert, wie z. B. in ihrer Beziehung zu den anderen Kunstgebieten, zu den Wissenschaften, zur Philosophie, zur Theologie, zur Politik, zum Recht und insbesondere zur Religion, von der sich die Musik seit Beginn ihrer Existenz hat inspirieren lassen. Es geht also um eine Erforschung des Seins der Musik sowohl im Hinblick auf ihre theoretischen als auch auf ihre praktischen Dimensionen, die sich aus den mannigfaltigen Daseinsweisen der menschlichen Person als des eigentlichen Subjekts jedes musikalischen Opus‘ ergeben. Neben systematischen werden auch historische Analysen vorgenommen. Die Schriftenreihe dient dem interkulturellen und internationalen Ideenaustausch und trägt damit der Musik als einer universellen und zugleich personalen Realität Rechnung. Wie in der bisherigen Musikgeschichte bleibt die Schriftenreihe damit offen für die Ausrichtung der zur Anwendung kommenden unterschiedlichen wissenschaftlichen Arbeitsmethoden auf die ewige Transzendenz.

Anglo-Iberian Studies is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed book series that aims to showcase innovative research in the interdisciplinary field of Anglo-Iberian Studies. The collection provides a platform for comparative and critical scholarly work on historical, artistic, literary, cultural, scientific, commercial and religious relations between Portugal and Great Britain, Europe’s oldest allies (Anglo-Portuguese Studies), and between Spain and Great Britain (Anglo-Spanish Studies). The aim of the collection is to foreground areas of multidisciplinary connections between the Iberian Peninsula and Great Britain, as well as between Portuguese- Spanish- and English-speaking communities all over the world. We welcome proposals from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. The series publishes books in English, Portuguese and Spanish. We are especially interested in work that brings new intellectual impetus to recognized research areas.

The series presents a broad spectrum of research results from the field of education, encompassing contributions from Eastern European countries. In addition to educational science, the monographs and anthologies, written in German or English, explore topics from various disciplines such as sociology, philosophy, and political science. Up to volume 38, the series was published under the title "Baltische Studien zur Erziehungs- und Sozialwissenschaft / Baltic Studies in Educational and Social Sciences". Die Schriftenreihe bietet ein breites Themenspektrum von Forschungsergebnissen aus der Pädagogik - unter anderem auch aus osteuropäischen Ländern. Neben erziehungswissenschaftlichen Aspekten fließen auch Themen aus anderen Fachbereichen, unter anderem der Soziologie, Philosophie und Politikwissenschaft, in die auf Deutsch oder Englisch verfassten Monographien und Sammelbände ein. Bis Band 38 erschien die Reihe unter dem Titel "Baltische Studien zur Erziehungs- und Sozialwissenschaft / Baltic Studies in Educational and Social Sciences".

"EUROSINICA is a book series for monographs of various thematic focuses, sharing the goal of studying culture and literature in contemporary or historical contexts. The series, under the imprint of Peter Lang, was founded in 1984 by the German sinologist Günther Debon (1921–2005) and the Canadian comparatist Adrian Hsia (1938–2010); so far, thirteen books have been published. While the founding editors placed the emphasis on the transfer processes of classical literary works and motifs between cultures, the continuation of their work requires new approaches. Rather than operate within the conceptual framework of “cultural dialogue” between an East and a West viewed as distinct entities, the series editors tend to a view of cultures in contact. EUROSINICA is accordingly open for studies and interpretation of authors, personalities, genres and individual works committed to an understanding of humanity as a common source of values which, rather than be impeded by cultural, linguistic or ethnic disparity, are being reshaped and reinvented in different settings. From the basic concept the series’ founders have contributed, we will carry on the approach to literature, the arts and history as transnational narratives emerging out of distinct contextualization and relying on as well as contributing to both the European and the Sinic cultural spheres. We explicitly welcome well-argued innovative interpretations of classical works, as we do historical and translation studies. At a time of ongoing global changes of aesthetic and critical paradigms, EUROSINICA does not intend to propose the East-West-paradigm as a last refuge for intellectual cultural conservatism, but rather envisages new critical approaches to the sporadic process of aesthetic and historical interactions (“contacts”) between formerly allegedly “separated” cultural spheres. For Authors EUROSINICA expects to publish between one and two volumes annually and aims for a balance between studies of contemporary or ancient focus. It thereby seeks to counter the trend of separating research on classical and modern issues. EUROSINICA will consider manuscripts in European languages. The series editors and board members are scholars at universities in the Baltic and Nordic countries of Europe, as well as in mainland China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. They represent the disciplines of comparative literature, cultural studies and history in European and East Asian languages. The series Language and Text Studies publishes works of a broad range of research on aspects of language and text, including English, French, German, Slavonic and Baltic studies. Although its central perspective is linguistic in nature, publications also encompass literary and cultural studies. The series comprises monographs as well as anthologies. The editors Alexander Brock and Katrin Schlund are linguists at the English and Slavonic Departments of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. La collection Recherches linguistiques et textuelles publie des travaux relevant de la philologie des langues modernes (anglais, langues romanes, allemand, langues slaves et baltes) dans une optique linguistique. Elle s'adresse également aux travaux de recherches littéraires et interdisciplinaires portant sur l'analyse textuelle. Elle publie des monographies, mémoires de recherche, recueils thématiques et actes de colloques. Les éditeurs Alexander Brock et Katrin Schlund sont des linguistes spécialisés aux langues anglaise et slaves, travaillants à l'université Martin-Luther de Halle-Wittenberg. In der Reihe Hallesche Sprach- und Textforschung erscheinen Studien aus dem Bereich moderner Philologien (u.a.
