The Contrastive Studies publishes academic works in French and English dealing with languages which are highly diverse in their usage, contributing new insights on phenomena such as equivalence, interference, and non-correspondence.　Offering a window onto translation as a type of language contact, the book series also includes studies on the process of appropriation of both languages and cultures in a wide variety of contexts. Kontrastive Linguistik / Linguistica contrastiva

Ziel der Reihe ist es, Monographien und Sammelbände zur kontrastiven Sprachwissenschaft unter einem Dach zu vereinen. Im Bereich der Monographien ist dabei sowohl an Überblicksdarstellungen und Detailstudien als auch an Qualifikationsschriften (ab Dissertation bzw. tesi di dottorato) zu denken. Die Themen können aus den Bereichen Lexikologie und Semantik, Lexikographie, Phonologie, Grammatik, Pragmalinguistik, Textlinguistik, Diskursanalyse und Übersetzungswissenschaft stammen. Sie sollen methodisch und theoretisch und/oder empirisch sprachvergleichend ausgerichtet sein. Bei den zu untersuchenden Sprachen muss entweder Deutsch oder Italienisch eine der Vergleichsbasen sein. Arbeiten zu Deutsch und Italienisch sind ebenfalls sehr willkommen. Weitere Vergleichssprachen sind andere romanische Sprachen und das Englische. Die Anzahl der beteiligten Sprachen ist dabei nicht auf zwei begrenzt. La collana ospita pubblicazioni monografiche e miscellanee dedicate alla linguistica contrastiva. Come monografie possono essere pubblicati compendi e manuali di linguistica contrastiva, studi su temi specifici, tesi di dottorato (Dissertation) e di Habilitation. Gli ambiti tematici previsti sono: lessicologia e semantica, lessicografia, fonologia, grammatica, linguistica pragmatica, testuale e conversazionale, traduttologia. Le ricerche devono essere riconducibili a approcci metodologici, teorici ed empirici di stampo contrastivo. Lingue di contrasto potranno essere il tedesco o l’italiano. Altre lingue oggetto di studio su base contrastiva possono essere le lingue romanze e l’inglese. Altrettanto graditi saranno studi su italiano e tedesco e ricerche che tengano conto di più lingue. Queering Paradigms

Queering Paradigms is a series of peer-reviewed edited volumes and monographs presenting challenging and innovative developments in Queer Theory and Queer Studies from across a variety of academic disciplines and political spheres. Queer in this context is understood as a critical disposition towards the predominantly binarist and essentialising social, intellectual, political, and cultural paradigms through which we understand gender, sexuality, and identity. Queering denotes challenging and transforming not just heteronormativity, but homonormativity as well, and pushing past the binary axes of homo- and hetero-sexuality. In line with the broad inter- and trans-disciplinary ethos of queer projects generally, the series welcomes contributions from both established and aspiring researchers in diverse fields of studies including political and social science, philosophy, history, religious studies, literary criticism, media studies, education, psychology, health studies, criminology, and legal studies. The series is committed to advancing perspectives from outside of the ‘Global North’. Further, it will publish research that explicitly links queer insights to specific and local political struggles, which might serve to encourage the uptake of queer insights in similar contexts. By cutting across disciplinary, geographic, and cultural boundaries in this way, the series provides a unique contribution to queer theory. The Series Editor: Professor B. Studies in Composition and Rhetoric

"This series welcomes both individually-authored and collaboratively-authored books and monographs as well as edited collections of essays. We are especially interested in books that might be used in either advanced undergraduate or graduate courses in one or more of the following subjects: cultural or multicultural studies and the teaching of writing; feminist perspectives on composition and rhetoric; postmodernism and the theory and practice of composition; “post-process” pedagogies; values, ethics, and ideologies in the teaching of writing; information technology and composition pedagogy; the assessment of writing; authorship and intellectual property issues; and studies of oppositional discourse in the academy, particularly challenges to exclusionary or hegemonic conventions. We also seek proposals in the following areas: the role of autobiography and of identity issues in both writing and writing pedagogy; the influence of social context on composing; the relationship of composition and rhetoric to various disciplines and schools of thought; collaborative learning and peer tutoring; facilitating and responding to student writing; approaches to empowering marginalized learners; the role or status of composition studies within English studies and the academy at large; and the role or status of student writers within the fields of composition and English studies."

Kontraste/Contrastes

Cette collection est conçue comme un forum à destination des germanistes francophones et des francoromanistes germanophones travaillant en linguistique contrastive et désireux de publier des résultats de recherche innovants. Les objets de recherche peuvent concerner tous les niveaux d’analyse traditionnels en linguistique, du mot à la phrase et du texte au discours. Dépourvue ’d’apriori méthodologiques, cette collection attache une grande importance au fondement empirique des travaux présentés, par exemple à travers une définition rigoureuse du tertium comparationis et le recours à des corpus pertinents qu’il s’agisse de textes parallèles (traduits) ou de textes comparables. Des travaux d’inspiration traductologique autour du couple de langues francais-allemand sont également les bienvenus. Peuvent être acceptés, en français et en allemand, aussi bien les monographies (y compris les thèses de doctorats et les habilitations) que les ouvrages collectifs (y compris les actes de colloques à la condition sine qua non d’avoir fait l’objet d’un travail éditorial approfondi garantissant une cohérence à l’ensemble). Tous les manuscrits feront l’objet d’une expertise en aveugle par le comité scientifique. Die jeweiligen Untersuchungsgegenstände können auf allen traditionellen linguistischen Beschreibungsebenen angesiedelt sein: Wort, Satz, Äußerung, Text und Diskurs. Methodologisch offen legt die Reihe eine besondere Aufmerksamkeit auf die empirische Fundierung der angebotenen Arbeiten, etwa durch ein genau definiertes tertium comparationis und durch den Rückgriff auf aussagekräftige parallele (d.h. übersetzte) bzw. vergleichbare Korpora. Übersetzungswissenschaftlich angelegte Studien zum Sprachenpaar Deutsch-Französisch sind auch willkommen. Aufgenommen werden können Manuskripte auf Deutsch bzw. Französisch, in Form von Monographien (auch Qualifikationsarbeiten) und Sammelbänden (Tagungsakten werden nur berücksichtigt, wenn eine editorische Nachbearbeitung seitens des Bandherausgebers vorliegt und der Band als kohärentes Ganzes erscheint). Alle Manuskripte werden vom wissenschaftlichen Beirat anonym begutachtet.
