The Ius, Lex et Res Publica. Studies in Law, Philosophy and Political Cultures series explores a wide range of topics, especially within the Polish legal and socio-political framework. This new series of monographs focuses chiefly on topics related to current legal and socio-political tendencies, comparative studies, philosophical, legal, and political theory, psychology and sociology of law, and other subjects that would be of interest to law practitioners and scholars conducting research in the field of social sciences. Intending to promote interdisciplinary and multidimensional scholarship, the Ius, Lex et Res Publica series encourages an innovative approach to classical studies in national-oriented, European, and international matters. In addition, this series will seek to provide a high academic standard in addressing recent and fundamental legal, philosophical and socio-political problems. Single-author publications, collaborative studies, and collections of academic essays are welcomed.

Global Literary Modernisms

The Global Literary Modernisms series provides a platform for literary scholarship on modernism across genres and geographies. The concept of the global today carries with it new ideas about time and historical development, as well as new theories about national literary traditions and new models of social belonging that extend beyond national borders. Without sacrificing our interest in national traditions, we invite studies that link those traditions to more extensive global and transnational contexts. The series also invites studies that reconsider the temporalities and formal and aesthetic praxes of modernism—not only its historical development, but the peculiar rhythms and pacing of its narratives, its dramatic literatures, its poetry, its song. While respecting the contemporary elasticity of the term, this series understands modernism not simply as a synonym for the ‘modern’ but as a movement that responds to the modern wherever it finds it. We invite English-language submissions on all aspects of literary modernism. Proposals are invited for monographs and edited volumes that engage transnational and postcolonial, canonical and marginal modernisms, and the legacies of modernism. We welcome single- and multiple-author studies from a variety of approaches and frameworks, literary-historical and/or theoretical.

Liberatory Stories and Rebel Voices for Abolition is a grass-roots, community-focused, radical, transformativ, critical decolonizing, anti-authoritarian book series on the political delineations of transforming education for liberation in communities occupying Indigenous territories and stolen land on Turtle Island (North America) and beyond. This book series will provide space and place for marginalized communities, students, workers, public intellectuals, activist-scholars, teachers, professors, justice impacted people, youth, and oppressed voices to critically resist and amplify their counter-stories which demand that, in the rollout of the neoliberal agendas, public education must be affordable, inclusive, equitable, inclusive, just, transformative, and open to all. This book series foregrounds writer’s agency with authentic story-telling, autoethnography, collective biography, and life writing narratives and is a place for disseminating participatory action and social justice activist research. It seeks critical teaching and critical writing that resists Eurocentric pedagogies and methodologies such as denotative reports, standardized metrics, rubrics, corporate, neoliberal, capitalist, standardized, colonial, factory education that colonizes the mind. Instead, the series privileges radical liberatory praxis and makes space for outstanding embodied action research tied to teaching, transformative participatory projects created with not ‘on’ marginalized communities that centers the margin. This book series defends, supports, and participates in revolutionary, transformative, social justice radical critical abolition movements to end authoritarianism, domination, oppression, state-violence, and repression. This book series has a hope for democracy from which knowledge from and for the margins emerge as powerful counter-currents and disruptive discourses that liberate. This book series holds space and place for these voices who brave the world with knowledge in one hand and resistance in the other to liberate all.

Cette collection, destinée à créer un espace d’analyse sur les littératures et les productions culturelles dédiées à l’enfance et à la jeunesse, et ce quel qu’en soit le support – littérature orale, livre, multimédia, audiovisuel – se veut être un terrain d’échanges et un chantier ouvert à des questionnements éclairés. Dans cette perspective, elle s’attache à insérer la réflexion dans le vaste champ des approches critiques liées à la littérature en général et aux sciences humaines, tout en ayant le souci de présenter des études comparatives émanant d’horizons multiples et de pays divers. À ce titre, la collection, principalement orientée vers le monde francophone, pourra donner lieu à la publication d’ouvrages critiques en d’autres langues.

The series welcomes publications of scholars who specialize in social and political philosophy, ethics, religious studies, political theory and political science. In Professionen lässt sich die Berufsausübung nur sehr begrenzt standardisieren. Es muss eine den Fall in seiner Gesamtheit würdigende Behandlung eingerichtet werden. Dies setzt ein Verstehen der Fallprob-lematik voraus. Dafür sind diagnostische bzw. fallverstehende Kompetenzen nötig, die durch die Einübung in rekonstruktive Methoden des Fallverstehens vermittelt werden können. Neben dieser Vermittlung in der Ausbildung ist die professionelle Praxis auf eine die Fallintervention rekonstruierende Evaluation ange-wiesen, um eine bestimmte Intervention zu überprüfen und wenn nötig auch andere Möglichkeiten zu finden. Darüber hinaus bieten sich fallrekonstruktive Vorgehensweisen in der Forschung zur Untersu-chung von verschiedenen, insbesondere professionalisierungstheoretischen, Fragestellungen an. Weil diese Verfahren in den Professionen trotz ihrer Leistungsfähigkeit noch relativ wenig bekannt sind, soll mit der Reihe zur Verbreitung solcher Ansätze beigetragen werden. Besonders wichtig sind sie in Medizin, Jurisprudenz, Theologie, Pädagogik, Psychologie, Polizei, Kriminologie, Sozialarbeit, Sozialpädagogik, Supervision, Organisationsberatung, Soziologie, Politologie, Ethnologie sowie bei gestaltenden und künst-lerischen Berufen. The series Research on Korea responds to the fact that interest in Korea and the need for reliable information on the country's history and present have risen considerably during the last decades, both in- and outside of academia. The series offers an interdisciplinary platform for academic works engaging with Korea. Not being restricted to specific methodological or historiographical approaches, the series is open for studies of Korea in any field as long as they make use of Korean primary sources and systematically engage with Korean language secondary literature. Based on solid methodology, the studies assembled in this series aim to open up paths for new insights and new research questions on Korea and Korea's role in the regional and international context. In der Schriftenreihe Research on Korea werden neuere Ergebnisse der Koreaforschung veröffentlicht, um dem in den letzten Jahrzehnten stark gesteigerten Interesse der akademischen und allgemeinen Öffentlichkeit an verlässlichen Informationen zu Korea nachzukommen. Sie bietet ihr eine interdisziplinäre Plattform, ohne sich dabei methodisch oder historiographisch bestimmten Richtungen verpflichtet zu fühlen. Allerdings legen die Herausgeber großen Wert darauf, dass koreanische Primärquellen ebenso wie in koreanischer Sprache verfasste Sekundärliteratur umfassend und systematisch verwendet werden. Die Reihe ist offen für Korea-Studien jeder Art, die auf der Grundlage von Quellenarbeit und solider Methodologie den Weg zu neuen Erkenntnissen und Fragestellungen in der historischen, sozial- und kulturwissenschaftlichen Forschung zu Korea und zu Koreas Rolle im regionalen wie internationalen Kontext ebnen.

This book series seeks to engage a broad and cross-disciplinary range of students, scholars, activists, and others in a critical multicultural dialogue on the complex intersections of power, privilege, identity, and Whiteness. The series aims to link theory and practice to problematize key societal and educational concerns related to Whiteness. The series editors share the view that taking action for transformative change in and through education, in the spirit of what Paulo Freire called conscientization, is the role of educators who seek to address the needs of all their students. In focusing on Whiteness, we are concerned with social, economic, and environmental justice, the problematization of race, and the potential for education to be emancipatory in addressing power imbalances. Some of the questions of interest for this book series include: • How do we engage in critical discussions related to power, privilege, identity, and Whiteness when many multicultural frameworks dissuade us from such work? • How can we connect Whiteness to other intersecting and pivotal forms of being, marginalization, and identity? • How can those categorized as White engage in dialogues and action about Whiteness that can positively contribute to addressing concerns of racialized and marginalized groups? • How can we effectively contextualize and critique hegemony and globalized economic realities so as to be able to discuss race in a constructive and transformative manner?

Series description: This series draws on the success of the systems-thinking approach to safety management in commercial and military aviation, with a view to improving safety performance in other complex socio-technical systems, such as health-care, nuclear power generation, chemicals production, oil and gas extraction, deep mining and sea and rail transportation. Following the 1977 Tenerife air disaster (that killed 583 people), a traumatised and vilified aviation industry resolved to improve its safety performance. The adoption of a systems-thinking approach to risk analysis and mitigation, expressed in innovations such as the teamworking protocol crew resource management, has benefited the industry. According to the International Air Transportation Association, in 2024 the global all-accident rate was 1.13 per million flights, equating to one accident for every 880,000 flights. You are much safer in a pressurised aluminium tube cruising at eighty per cent the speed of sound six miles above terra firma than you are driving up Britain’s M1 motorway on a sunny day in a modern automobile, fully alert and not under the influence. The series is aimed at practitioners as well as academics and students. To this end, it is written in an accessible style with jargon explained. This reflects its purpose: to leverage change.

Le choix linguistique traduit le souci, propre à la collection, de favoriser la connaissance de la culture italienne dans les pays de langue française et de la culture française dans les pays de langue italienne. Les éditions de textes sont le fruit d'un travail critique original, et présentent un apparat conséquent. Les études (monographies, manuels, ouvrages collectifs, actes de colloques) sont également des travaux originaux et de caractère scientifique.
