This series intends to promote and stimulate the scientific dialogue between the Old Testament and its interrelated subjects. The interest is focused on the relationship between the Old Testament and the New Testament and on its relationship with the human sciences. In addition to theology, anthropology and ethics and aside from areas relating to psychology, pedagogy, sociology, economics, historiography, music and linguistics, there are some important points of reference to scientific questions, including medicine. This international series will publish not only monographs and conference volumes but also theses and dissertations in German, English, Italian and Romanian. Of vital importance is the desire that these volumes address themselves not exclusively to specialists, but to the general interested reader. Diese Reihe will den wissenschaftlichen Dialog zwischen dem Alten Testament und benachbarten Fächern fördern. Im Mittelpunkt des Interesses stehen der weit verzweigte Dialog zum Neuen Testament sowie die wechselseitige Beziehung mit den Humanwissenschaften, die durch die Vielschichtigkeit des Alten Testaments hervorgerufen wird. Dazu gehören neben der Theologie, Anthropologie und Ethik auch Gebiete wie Psychologie, Pädagogik, Soziologie, Ökonomie, Geschichtsschreibung, Musikwissenschaften und Sprachforschung. Aber auch zu naturwissenschaftlichen Fragen wie beispielsweise in der Medizin gibt es einige wichtige Bezugspunkte. In diese international ausgerichtete Reihe werden sowohl Monographien und Tagungsbände als auch Dissertationen und Habilitationen in deutscher, englischer, italienischer und rumänischer Sprache aufgenommen. Ein wichtiges Anliegen ist es, dass sich die Bände nicht ausschliesslich an Fachleute richten, sondern eine breitere wissenschaftlich interessierte Leserschaft ansprechen.

The series New Testament Studies in Contextual Exegesis (NTS) is dedicated to the publication of exegetical works which aim at enhancing a textually adequate understanding of the New Testament by taking into consideration the life-contexts, horizons of interpretation, and questions of the non-Western world. African, Latin-American, Oceanic, and Asian exegetes can, from their own perspectives, make significant contributions to the field of New Testament studies with respect to content and methodology. The contributions that appear in NSKE are works of critical exegesis. They are informed by methodological reflection. The authors consider the cultural embededness or contextuality of the New Testament writings as well as that of the exegetical perspective. Die Reihe Neutestamentliche Studien zur kontextuellen Exegese (NTS) ist der Veröffentlichung solcher exegetischen Arbeiten gewidmet, die Lebenskontexte, Deutehorizonte und Fragestellungen der nicht-westlichen Welt für ein textangemessenes Verstehen des Neuen Testaments fruchtbar zu machen suchen. In ihrer je besonderen Perspektivität haben afrikanische, lateinamerikanische, ozeanische und asiatische Exegeten und Exegetinnen sowohl inhaltlich als auch methodisch einiges und zuweilen Entscheidendes im Bereich Neutestamentliche Wissenschaft beizutragen. Bei den in NTS erscheinenden Untersuchungen handelt es sich um exegetisch-kritische Beiträge, die wissenschaftlich-methodisch verantwortet die kulturelle Einbettung bzw. Kontextualität sowohl der neutestamentlichen Schriften als auch der exegetischen Perspektive bedenken.

This series presents a new reading of Scottish culture, establishing how Scots, and non-Scots, experience the devolved nation. Within the context of a rapidly changing United Kingdom and Europe, Scotland is engaged in an ongoing process of self-definition. The series will deal with this process as well as with cultural phenomena, from debates about the relative value of Gaelic-based, Scots and Anglicised culture, to period-specific definitions of Scottish identity. Orally transmitted culture – from traditional narratives to songs, customs, beliefs and material culture – will be a key consideration, along with the reconstruction of historical periods in cultural texts (visual and musical as well as historical). Taken as a whole, the series will go some way towards achieving a new understanding of a country with potential for development into parallel treatments of locally based cultural phenomena. The series welcomes monographs as well as collected papers.

"Catholic Thought from Lublin is a monograph series devoted to Lublin philosophy and its applications. Books in the series represent the major voices in this school and address a broad range of philosophical subjects. Essentially, Lublin philosophy is the latest systematic presentation and interpretation of Thomistic thought. It was introduced in Poland after World War II. Lublinism, or Polish Existential Thomism, embodies a new and revolutionary ideal in the history of Catholic philosophical and theological teaching under the aegis of John Paul II. Lublinism represents a genuine quest into the classical philosophy of Aristotle and Aquinas based on both an objective rigorous study of reality understood as being in concreto and a subjective pursuit in evaluating human existence (in its internal experience) as personal being. Books in the series represent the major voices in this school and address a broad range of philosophical subjects. Essentially, Lublin philosophy is the latest systematic presentation and interpretation of Thomistic thought. It was introduced in Poland after World War II. Lublinism, or Polish Existential Thomism, embodies a new and revolutionary ideal in the history of Catholic philosophical and theological teaching under the aegis of John Paul II. "The main aim of this book series is to cross borderlines of traditionally defined fields of studies: cultural anthropology, media and communication studies, sociology, political science, social geography and regional studies, history as well as social psychology. Paedagogica

Paedagogica publishes original monographs, translations and collections reflecting the thought and practice long known, for example, as le pédagogie in French, pedagogía in Spanish, and Pädagogik in German. Pedagogy in this sense starts with the influence of one person or group on another—often an older generation on a younger. Pedagogy is not just about school or college, but interpenetrates many spheres of human activity, forming a domain of practice and study in its own right—one that is ethical in its implications and relational in its substance. This pedagogical tradition has been developed over hundreds of years, for example, by John Amos Comenius (Komenský), Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Johann Friedrich Herbart, Maria Montessori and Janusz Korczak. Studies in Historical Linguistics

Studies in Historical Linguistics brings together work which utilises the comparative method of language study. Topics include the examination of language change over time, the genetic classification of language, lexicography, dialectology and etymology. Pronunciation, lexis, morphology and syntax are examined within the framework of historical linguistics. Both synchronic and diachronic approaches are used so that language is examined both at one time and across time. Historical Linguistics is still a young area of academic study, but it has its foundations in one of the oldest - philology. This series recognises both the seminal importance of philology, and the recent development through the conceptual framework provided by linguistic science.

Anglo-Iberian Studies is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed book series that aims to showcase innovative research in the interdisciplinary field of Anglo-Iberian Studies. The collection provides a platform for comparative and critical scholarly work on historical, artistic, literary, cultural, scientific, commercial and religious relations between Portugal and Great Britain, Europe’s oldest allies (Anglo-Portuguese Studies), and between Spain and Great Britain (Anglo-Spanish Studies). The aim of the collection is to foreground areas of multidisciplinary connections between the Iberian Peninsula and Great Britain, as well as between Portuguese- Spanish- and English-speaking communities all over the world. We welcome proposals from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. The series publishes books in English, Portuguese and Spanish. We are especially interested in work that brings new intellectual impetus to recognized research areas.
