Kosmopolitisch, multikulturell und weltoffen – so möchte Berlin wahrgenommen werden. Eine Vielzahl von Universitäten und akademischen Einrichtungen machen den urbanen Raum an der Spree zu einer der bedeutendsten Wissenschaftsregionen Europas. Wie keiner anderen deutschen Metropole wird Berlin zwar bescheinigt, eine Stadt der Kultur und Wissenschaft zu sein, aber keine der Religion. Tatsächlich ist hier schon seit einiger Zeit eine tiefgreifende Veränderung spürbar. Die Berliner Bibliothek versteht sich deshalb als Forum, Erkundungen und intellektuelle Grenzgänge sensibel wahrzunehmen. Herausgeber Thomas Brose spricht in diesem Kontext vom "BERLINER ANSATZ" – gemeint ist damit jedoch keine feste Ortsangabe oder Berlin-Fixiertheit, sondern – in Anspielung an die Mauer – der Umstand, dass bisher getrennte Perspektiven synoptisch-zusammenschauend zu betrachten sind, um das Ganze zu begreifen. Die Buchreihe spannt den Bogen von der Religion über die Kultur zur Wissenschaft. Sie ist interdisziplinär ausgerichtet und verknüpft die Fächer Theologie, Philosophie, Zeit- und Kirchengeschichte, Rechts- und Religionswissenschaft, Bioethik, Politik-, Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft. Herausgeber der Reihe ist der Religionsphilosoph und Philosophieprofessor Thomas Brose. Er war aktiv in der Friedlichen Revolution und ist im Religionsdialog der Hauptstadt engagiert: Mitglied der Europäischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und Künste sowie Vizepräsident der Guardini Stiftung. Recherches comparatives sur les livres et le multimédia d'enfance

Cette collection, destinée à créer un espace d’analyse sur les littératures et les productions culturelles dédiées à l’enfance et à la jeunesse, et ce quel qu’en soit le support – littérature orale, livre, multimédia, audiovisuel – se veut être un terrain d’échanges et un chantier ouvert à des questionnements éclairés. Dans cette perspective, elle s’attache à insérer la réflexion dans le vaste champ des approches critiques liées à la littérature en général et aux sciences humaines, tout en ayant le souci de présenter des études comparatives émanant d’horizons multiples et de pays divers. À ce titre, la collection, principalement orientée vers le monde francophone, pourra donner lieu à la publication d’ouvrages critiques en d’autres langues.

The Studies in Shakespeare series deals with all aspects of Shakespearean drama and poetry. Studies of dramatic verse, verse and prose style, major themes, stage or performance history, and film treatments are welcomed. The editor is particularly interested in manuscripts that examine Shakespeare's work in its American setting--in the academy, on stage, and in popular culture. ALPH: Arbeiten zur Literarischen Phantastik / ALPH: Approaches to Literary Phantasy

This series has been terminated after vol. 9. ALPH: in Coleridge’s poem Kubla Khan, this is a subterranean river based on the Greek Alphaios, which connects different worlds and thus creates new spaces in secret and surprising ways. The title Alph thus stands for works of fantastic literature/phantasy to which this series devotes new and exciting studies, from all ranges of anglophone writing, but also from other languages. Interdisciplinary and comparative studies are particularly welcome. Band 9 schließt diese Reihe ab. ALPH: In Coleridges Gedicht Kubla Khan ist dies ein unterirdischer Fluss, dem griechischen Alphaios entlehnt, der verschiedene Welten verbindet und dabei auf phantastische Weise neue Räume aufdeckt. Darum geht es in den Büchern dieser Reihe, in der neue Studien zur phantastischen Literatur erscheinen, insbesondere, aber nicht nur, der englischsprachigen Welt. Interdisziplinäre und komparatistische Arbeiten sind besonders willkommen.

Spanish Golden Age Studies

This series publishes titles on the Golden Age, including but not limited to studies on the New World, the imperial wars, internal strife, visual arts, the popular theatre and prose fiction. Our remit is to provide an outlet for new socio-historical and cultural research on the Early-Modern period, a time when Spain could for the first and last time lay claim to being the world’s leading military, economic and political power. The series is particularly interested in reflections on how cultural production both reflected and shaped the age that ostensibly brought it forth. We welcome both monographs and edited collections in English or Spanish.
