Das Alte Testament im Dialog / An Outline of an Old Testament Dialogue
ISSN: 1662-1689
This series intends to promote and stimulate the scientific dialogue between the Old Testament and its interrelated subjects. The interest is focused on the relationship between the Old Testament and the New Testament and on its relationship with the human sciences. In addition to theology, anthropology and ethics and aside from areas relating to psychology, pedagogy, sociology, economics, historiography, music and linguistics, there are some important points of reference to scientific questions, including medicine. This international series will publish not only monographs and conference volumes but also theses and dissertations in German, English, Italian and Romanian. Of vital importance is the desire that these volumes address themselves not exclusively to specialists, but to the general interested reader.

Education and Struggle
Narrative, Dialogue, and the Political Production of MeaningISSN: 2168-6432
"WE ARE THE STORIES WE TELL. The series "Education and Struggle" focuses on conflict as a discursive process where people struggle for legitimacy and the narrative process becomes a political struggle for meaning. But this series will also include the voices of authors and activists who are involved in conflicts over material necessities in their communities, schools, places of worship, and public squares as part of an ongoing search for dignity, self-determination and autonomy. This series focuses on conflict and struggle within the realm of educational politics based around a series of interrelated themes: indigenous struggles; western-Islamic conflicts; globalization and the clash of worldviews; neoliberalism as the war within;colonization and neocolonization; the coloniality of power and decolonial pedagogy; war and conflict and the struggle for liberation. It publishes narrative accounts of specific struggles as well as theorizing "conflict narratives" and the political production of meaning in educational studies. During this time of global conflict and the crisis of capitalism, Education and Struggle promises to be on the cutting edge of social, cultural, educational and political transformation. Central to the series is the idea that language is essentially a dialogical production that is formed through a process of social conflict and interaction. The aim is to focus on key semiotic, literary andpolitical concepts as a basis for a philosophy of language and culture where the underlying materialist philosophy of language and culture serves as the basis for the larger project that we might call dialogism (after Bakhtins usage). As the late V.N. Volosinov suggests Without signs there is no ideology, Everything ideological possesses semiotic value and individual consciousness is a socio-ideological fact. It is a small step to claim, therefore, consciousness itself can arise and become a viable fact only in the material embodiment of signs. This series is a vehicle for materialist semiotics in the narrative and dialogue of education and struggle."

Descolonizar los Estudios cubanos interdisciplinarios/Decolonizing Interdisciplinary Cuban Studies
Diálogos desde y con Cuba/Dialogues from and with CubaThis series publishes scholarly and creative contributions to the global field of Cuban Studies. Written in English or Spanish (or a combination), the titles in this series include monographs, edited volumes, translations of academic studies and works that combine academic and creative work around a theme or concept. The series centres on the concept of decolonization, and represents a turn towards perspectives that steer clear of cultural hegemonies and that are built on a multiplicity of voices, ideas and projects that are all integrated on equal terms and on the basis of inherent rigour. In this sense, the series aims to decolonize Cuban Studies by allowing for productive dialogue between scholars in the arts, social sciences and humanities in Cuba, and between Cuban scholars and Cubanists elsewhere. It privileges approaches and concepts that recognise ecologies of knowledge – the multiple and complex interactions between knowledge and power in Europe, the US and Latin America and the Caribbean – and it especially encourages perspectives from the Global South. It embraces interdisciplinarity and co-production and creates a unique space for local and peripheral visions of Cuba to be seen. The mission of the series is to provide a place for dialogue and new collaborations in the broad field of Cuban Studies through linking the local, the national and the transnational in productive conversations designed to decolonize our understanding of Cuba.

The City as Place: Emotions, Experiences, and Meanings
ISSN: 2632-0924
The purpose of this series is to examine the city as a lived place. Specifically, we are interested in the ways in which the city is invested with meaning through everyday lived experiences. The series is particularly interested in submissions that focus on the perceptual and felt dimensions of urban places through exploring the experiential, emotional, sensory, and affective dimensions that contribute to how people behave in, feel about, and move around in cities. Books in this series will interrogate the relationship between people and place through a focus on the diverse ways in which subjective and intimate feelings are fundamental constituents of the urban experience. We encourage authors to examine the city as a lived place from a range of different perspectives, and to be inclusive of individual and collective voices in the city to better understand the historical development and contemporary evolution of diverse urban settings. Some of the questions we seek to explore through the series include, but are not restricted to: How is the city experienced, by whom, and how does this change over time? Who shapes the experience of the city and for what reasons? How do individual and shared joy, fear, pride, nostalgia, disgust, or other emotions, shape the meanings attributed to urban spaces? How does the lived experience of, and emotional connections to, urban places inform the way particular spaces within cities are preserved and memorialized, or alternatively demolished and redeveloped? In what ways is our understanding of the lived experience of the city sharpened through the lens of comparative, transnational, and global approaches? The series seeks to examine the real and the imaginary, the representational and the non-representational, the historical and the contemporary, the remembered and the recreated in all historical periods including research on the twenty-first-century city. The series is open to work covering all geographic areas, and we encourage authors, where possible and relevant, to situate their studies in comparative, transnational, or global perspectives. Books may be published in English or in French. Series Editors: Dr Rebecca Madgin, Urban Studies, University of Glasgow and Dr Nicolas Kenny, History, Simon Fraser University. Advisory Board: Dr Anneleen Arnout (Radboud), Prof. Katie Barclay (Macquarie), Prof. Steven Cooke (Deakin), Prof. Nicole Eustace (NYU), Prof. Sian Jones (Stirling), Dr James Lesh (Melbourne), Prof. Piroska Nagy (Québec à Montréal), Dr Joseph Prestel (FU Berlin), Prof. Roey Sweet (Leicester), Prof. Astrid Swenson (Bayreuth).

Issues in Systematic Theology
This series emphasizes issues in contemporary systematic theology but is open to theological issues from the past. Works in this series seek to explore such issues as the relation of reason and revelation, experience and doctrine, the meaning of revelation, method in theology, Trinitarian Theology, the doctrine of God, Christology, sacraments and the Church. Of course other issues such as ecumenical relations or specific doctrinal studies on topics such as predestination or studies evaluating particular influential theologians may be considered. Authors whose work is critical, constructive, and ecumenical are encouraged to consider this series. One of the aims of this series is to illustrate that Christian systematic theologians from different denominations may seek and find Christian unity through dialogue on those central issues that unite them in their quest for truth. Towards a Universal Civilization
This series aims to promote an integration of sciences, humanities, and a discussion of the diversity of religions and cultures. We encourage an interdisciplinary approach, perceived as a means to seek common truths in reference to individual life and the life among local and national communities. We are interested in texts, monographs and collections of texts that debate the forms of experiencing the self in relation to itself, to other people, and towards nature and culture. We hope to open up an opportunity for a dialogue instrumental in the philosophical search of the intellectual points of agreement.

Psychoanalyse im Dialog
ISSN: 2235-6908

Human Right Studies
Among the broad structural transformation processes at the global level, the international legal recognition of human rights occupies an exceptionally prominent position. The dimensions of this process include standard setting, the functioning of sophisticated machineries for the promotion and protection of human rights, the development of a specific international case-law as well as new priorities of the political agenda. The human rights paradigm is at the heart of a new set of interrelated principles, which are equally valid at both the domestic and the international levels such as the rule of law, democratic principles and the responsibility to protect and of great strategic visions, as human development and human security. New functions, such as human rights monitoring, election observation, fact-finding and inquiry have already been admitted to international practice. This series intends to foster the publication of volumes that investigate the multiple facets of a strongly evolving reality, and stimulate the production of new and innovative ideas. It offers to highlight how the human rights paradigm is at times used and at times disregarded or exploited in cases and situations that regard among others those belonging to vulnerable groups (immigrants, asylum seekers, persons with disabilities), NGOs and human rights defenders’ advocacy, intercultural dialogue, governance of world economy, bio-technologies and peace operations. Those studies which adopt inter- and trans-disciplinary approaches, in accordance with the fundamental principle of interdependence and indivisibility of civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, will be favored. Ikeda/Soka Studies in Education
The Peter Lang series in Ikeda/Soka Studies in Education engages with and takes its name from Ikeda Daisaku (1928–2023) and his many contributions to education as well as from the heritage of ideas and ideals from Makiguchi Tsunesaburō (1871–1944) and Toda Jōsei (1900–1958) that he embraced, developed, and spread globally under the broad banner of “sōka," a Japanese neologism meaning the "creation of value." The series features both intrinsic and extrinsic scholarship as well as original translations of the primary works by Ikeda, Makiguchi, and Toda. By "intrinsic" we mean the historical and primary texts by Ikeda, Toda, and Makiguchi in Japanese and the contexts in which they were written; by "extrinsic" we mean these texts and their ideas in translation and conceptual and empirical application in various contexts and disciplines today. This series thus maintains fidelity to the intrinsic dimensions while exploring extrinsic possibilities that are relevant to current and future demands in education and human becoming worldwide. We seek scholarly submissions on theory and theorizing; empirical, conceptual, and applied research in practice and policy; bilingual and critical discourse analysis; and text-based praxis of Ikeda/Soka Studies in Education in various contexts. These may include, but are not limited to areas in education common to Ikeda, Toda, and/or Makiguchi such as: human education, global citizenship, communities studies, human geography, peace and human rights, nuclear disarmament, dialogue, creativity and the poetic heart/mind/spirit, human revolution, literature and the arts, biospheric sustainability and climate change, interdependence and creative coexistence, civil society, people movements, youth activism and empowerment, deductive reasoning, language and literacies, aptitude and assessment, knowledge and wisdom, student-teacher relationships, social self-actualization, contributive living, happiness, questions of value, and intersections with religion/Buddhism, among others.

Human Right Studies
Subseries: Italian Yearbook of Human RightsISSN: 2294-8848
The legal and political significance of human rights has increased enormously at the international and European levels. It has become increasingly clear that the respect and promotion of human rights must be at the centre of States and local communities' public policies and that human rights are the basis of civil society initiatives and movements. There is a large mechanism, at all levels of governance, monitoring the way in which States implement the obligations they have assumed towards each person under their sovereignty. The Italian Yearbook of Human Rights Series provides year by year, a dynamic and up-to date overview of the measures Italy has taken to adapt its legislation and policies in line with international human rights law and to comply with the commitments voluntarily assumed by the Italian Government at the international level. The book series thus intends to contribute to the continuous monitoring activity of the human rights situation in Italy undertaken at the local, national and international levels by the relevant intergovernmental and civil society actors. Each volume of this series surveys the activities carried out, during the year of reference, by the relevant national and local Italian actors, including governmental bodies, civil society organisations and universities. It also presents reports and recommendations that have been addressed to Italy by international monitoring bodies within the framework of the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the European Union. Finally, each Yearbook provides a selection of examples from international and national case law that cast light on Italys position vis-à-vis internationally recognised human rights. The Yearbook is edited by the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padua, in cooperation with the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights, Democracy and Peace of the same university, and with the support of the Region of Veneto. The Centre, established in 1982, carries out research and education following a global and interdisciplinary approach. It hosts the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on intercultural dialogue, human rights and multi-level governance.
