Gender, Sexuality, and Culture

This new series is a forum for the investigation and analysis of the contested terrain between culture, gender, and sexuality. Titles in the series can include, but are not limited to, (re)theorizations of gender in relation to, or its constitution through, sexuality, race, dass, or culture, studies of sexuality and sexual identity that produce new understandings of gender, or new inquiries into culture, broadly defined, that raise competting implications for the ways in which we think about gender and sexuality in the contemporary social world. Of particular interest are manuscripts that cirtique and/or broaden traditional constructions of gender and take into account sexuality, race, dass, or the pressures of other constitutive categories, analyze nonwestern literary and cultural representations of gender and their relationship to sexuality, especially in postcolonial contexts, and theorize transgender from feminist, queer, postcolonial, or cultural studies frameworks. Telecollaborative learning and Virtual Exchange in Education

This series focuses on the pedagogical processes and learning outcomes of engaging learners from diverse cultural and geographical backgrounds in online contact and collaboration for educational purposes. Emphasis is placed on innovative teaching and learning practices that leverage modern digital communication technologies to facilitate interaction, collaboration and intercultural learning. The activity is referred to in different academic contexts as Virtual Exchange, Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), telecollaboration, Global International Teams and e-tandem among others. The series editors welcome proposals from authors using any of these different terms. Proposals related to Blended Mobility initiatives which combine online collaborative learning with short periods of physical mobility are also encouraged.　 "Telecollaborative learning and Virtual Exchange in Education" deals with the application of these practices in different subject areas (e.g. Foreign Languages, History, Science) and in different educational contexts, including but not limited to primary, secondary, university and adult education.　 A major aim of the series is to reflect the diversity of research and practice in this area of knowledge, providing a space for transversal dialogue among teachers and teacher trainers, administrators, researchers, and educators working in different subject areas as well as various areas of education. Founded in 1895 under the title Wiener Beiträge zur englischen Philologie and continued as Austrian Studies in English from 1995 onwards, this is one of the oldest academic series world-wide. For more than a century it has offered a platform for the publication of outstanding monographs and article collections on the languages, literatures and cultures of the anglophone world to researchers with an affiliation with Austria. We invite excellent and innovative studies on these topics to be sent to one of the editors. All manuscripts are submitted to a two-stage peer-review process to maintain the high quality of the series. *** NEW FORMAT! *** In addition to the long-standing tradition of publishing monographs and conference volumes, Austrian Studies in English now offers a new fast-track Prompts format for publication. It is an innovative format, for studies that are intermediate in length between a conventional monograph and a typical journal article (between 25,000 and 50,000 words). Its focus is thus on the succinct, yet in-depth and state-of-the-art treatment of a narrowly delimited topic. This slimmer format will allow for speedier production (while keeping the quality control and peer-review process rigorously in place), which makes this fast-track procedure particularly advantageous for topical issues in a fast-changing world. The periodical press played a key role in cultural exchange, public debate, and knowledge transfer. Periodicals became essential elements in the construction and development of a communication network that enabled an open dialogue among the learned people of Europe and the circulation of knowledge among an increasingly wide readership. La collana è dedicata allo studio, in una prospettiva interdisciplinare, dei periodici e dei giornali pubblicati in Europa dal XVII secolo a oggi. La stampa periodica giocò un ruolo chiave nello scambio culturale, nel dibattito pubblico e nella trasmissione della conoscenza. I periodici furono infatti essenziali per la costruzione e lo sviluppo di una rete di comunicazione che consentì un dialogo aperto tra le persone di cultura in tutta Europa e la circolazione del sapere all’interno di un pubblico di lettori sempre più ampio. La collection est consacrée à l’étude, dans une approche interdisciplinaire, des périodiques et des journaux en Europe à partir du XVIIe siècle à nos jours. La presse périodique jouait un rôle clé dans les échanges culturels, le débat public et le transfert de connaissances. They reflect in a legal and/or political scientific perspective the structure and work of the world organization and aim at examining the opportunities which exist in order to strengthen the UN system as a basis for a “world’s peace law” through governance. By doing so, the Dresden Papers wish to contribute to the field of “UN Studies” in research and teaching. Die Arbeiten dieser Reihe decken das gesamte Spektrum der politikwissenschaftlichen Forschung ab, konzentrieren sich jedoch insbesondere auf Politikökonomie, die Analyse von Wirtschaftspolitik aus politikwissenschaftlicher Perspektive sowie auf das Feld der regulativen Politik.
