· 4 · the voices of adolescents This research was carried out in order to ascertain how adolescents find mean- ing in their actions, construct their social reality and desires, and interact in and communicate about sexual -affective relationships. This study has opened the door to the transformation of loving attraction, greater choice in loving relationships, and sexual -affective action guided by reflection and dialogue in search of a relationship that unites stability and passion at the same time and with the same person. The new coeducational proposals seem to facilitate this pathway, although they have significant inadequacies. We still don’t know whether adolescents choose to have relationships with people who have the values recommended by transformative educational proposals or those who have negative and exclusionary values. Do egalitarian relationships inspire passion in adoles- cents, or do they lead to friendship without passion? Can adolescents achieve a relationship that is full of both stability and passion with the same person? Do they believe that tastes and desires are unchangeable, or do they consider how to transform them? The data here were collected from girls and boys in compulsory secondary education (12 to 16 years of age). First relationships hold great significance, as they can satisfy or destroy the most ambitious dreams.
