Stefan Kaegi et Rimini Protokoll : incessants jeux de loupe Abstract Zusammenfassung Riassunto 190–194 190 Stefan Kaegi once toyed with the idea of becoming a writer or jour- nalist. One of the key stations on his nomadic journey as a student was his time at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at Giessen University, where the classical rules of theatre are turned on their head and themselves made into the subject of experimentation. Stefan Kaegi’s first production featured an expert in poultry farming who came to give a presentation at a conference. This re-contextu- alisation of the real also has echoes in the work of the Germans Helgard Haug and Daniel Wetzel, who trained at Giessen too. In 2000 their meeting led to Kreuzworträtsel Boxenstopp, their first joint production, which confronted four octogenarians with the reality of Formula One. A few months later Rimini Protokoll was born, a col- legial collective that still endeavours to preserve the creative inde- pendence of its representatives. Now based in Berlin, the collective remains as creative as ever, transforming the spectator into one of its privileged “experts in real life”. Stefan Kaegi trug sich auch mit dem Gedanken, Schriftsteller oder Journalist zu werden. Als Student zieht er umher und erlebt eine seiner wichtigsten Etappen am Institut für angewandte Theaterwis- senschaften in Giessen.
