Directors of the Series Notebooks of Yuste

Prof. Dr. Antonio Ventura Díaz Díaz

Born in Campanario (Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain), married and with two daughters. Antonio Ventura Díaz Díaz is Doctor of Psychology and attached to executive Civil Service positions. Secretary General of Down Spain. Lecturer of the Gerontology Master’s Studies at the University of Salamanca and Member of the Executive Council of the Spanish Federation of Foundations. He has been President of CERMI Extremadura (The Spanish National Council of Disabled Representatives in Extremadura), President of the Federation of Popular Universities in Extremadura and has held several responsible positions at the Regional Civil Service, such as Vice-president of Extremadura’s autonomous regional government (1989-1993), among others. He has been till July 2013 Director of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation, and He is at present General Secretary of FIADOWN, the Iberoamerican Federation for Down Syndrome. Lecturer at several Universities in Spain, Europe, Latin America and the United States. Among other publications, we can mention his outstanding work: “Construcción psicológica de la Identidad Regional. Tópicos y estereotipos. El referente de Extremadura” (Psychological construction of the regional identity. Stereotypes and clichés. Extremadura as a reference). He has received several awards, distinctions, and other recognitions.
