A Professional Tribute to Professor Dr. Ayseli Usluata
Professor Dr. Ayseli Usluata has had a great career educating students about communication theories, principles and effective practices. She has dedicated her professional life to the study of communication, to her students and to their education.
She has also had a profound effect upon Yeditepe University and the professional organizations to which she belongs. I have had the privilege of personally observing her professionalism and impact as a visiting professor at Yeditepe University in Istanbul and as a member of the International Association for Business Communication to which Professor Usluata also belongs.
Professor Usluata’s impact upon Yeditepe University is both significant and sustainable. She was the first Head of the Public Relations and Publicity Department. She used her resourcefulness and creativity to build a strong department with many students. She recruited and subsequently mentored faculty for the Department, and in addition to her administrative duties, she also taught several classes. She worked tirelessly on behalf of the Department and the University.
Professor Usluata helped her students develop and practice excellent professional public relations skills. A prime example is PRP Yeditepe, a 70-page magazine with photos and stories about the people and events in the Department of Public Relations and Publicity.
