Exploring the Role of Job Satisfaction on Organizational Commitment among Medical Secretaries


Abstract The objective of this paper is to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment. At the same time, this field study provides recommendations based on the contribution of job satisfaction on organizational commitment. The research was a cross-sectional study of medical secretaries in a big public hospital in Turkey. In total, 119 usable questionnaires were obtained. The Smart PLS program was used to test the research hypotheses. According to the results, job satisfaction was positively related to all three dimensions of organizational commitment. Theoretical and practical implications of the study are discussed in the last section of the paper.
