The book is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Romanian Academy. It contains the most valuable 100 papers presented at the International Conference «Economic Scientific Research – Theoretical, Empirical and Practical Approaches» (ESPERA 2015). The event is initiated annually by the National Institute for Economic Research «Costin C. Kirițescu» of the Romanian Academy. ESPERA aim to present and evaluate the economic scientific research portfolio as well as to argue and substantiate development strategies, including European and global best practices. ESPERA intend to become a scientific support for the conceptualization and the establishment of policies and strategies and to provide a systematic, permanent, wide and challenging dialogue within the European area of economic and social research.

Using Mobile Technologies to Promote and Valorize the Cultural Heritage in the Knowledge Based Society

Abstract: The current paper presents the role of mobile devices and technologies in the promotion and valorization of cultural heritage elements from galleries, libraries, archives and museums, in the context of knowledge-based society. Key aspects of cultural heritage digitization are highlighted and a mobile application for cultural heritage promotion is described. The mobile application was implemented as a virtual exhibition, available on mobile devices with the Android operating system. A survey was conducted with 100 students who have used the mobile application on their smartphones and tablets. The results of the survey were analyzed in order to highlight the quality characteristics of the mobile application.
