Representation of New Communication Technologies in Cartoons Featured in Turkey: In the Example of ‘Ben 10, Nane Limon, and Canım Kardeşim’

Introduction

Cartoons, which are in the category of children and youth films, play an important role in the development period of children. Early childhood (0–8 years) is the period in which growth is the fastest. In this period cartoons attract children and especially appeal to visuality (Atay & Öncü, 2014: 69). Cartoon characters, with whom children meet initially after their family members before their school age, have a high influence in shaping their behaviour and speech.
