Abstract: “ The Fourth Industrial Revolution”, or Industry 4.0, will shape the next 30–40 years of the world economy and will lead to a redefinition of the roles of countries in the international division of labor through restructuring of production processes. The most important determinant of this process is the industrial robots that replace the human labor force in the manufacturing industry. As well as economic and technical aspects, the increasing role of the robots brings about cultural, social and political debates, leading to the emergence of a new literature in this field.
