Der Band dokumentiert eine Reihe von Beiträgen der XX. Internationalen wissenschaftlichen Konferenz Bildungsreform und Lehrerausbildung, die vom Ministerium für Bildung und Wissenschaft der Republik Litauen, der Litauischen Universität für Bildungswissenschaften in Vilnius (LEU) und der Pädagogischen Hochschule Heidelberg – University of Education gemeinsam veranstaltet wurde. Das Hauptthema der Konferenz waren Bildungs- und Qualitätsstandards der Hochschul- und Schulbildung. Hayo Siemsen Teaching Flexibility of Thinking Meta-pedagogy for Life Tomorrow Based on General Physiological Principles Abstract Today, technology changes quickly and it continuously changes life. If something is taught now, it might be outdated in a few years. The transformations happen mostly unexpectedly and unpredictably. If something is taught today to future teachers, it might be outdated already at the time they start teaching. How can this be prevented, or rather, what can be taught to teachers so that they will continue to be of value to their students and what they teach will be of value for a lifetime? Life-long learning seems necessary and inevitable, but can one also still learn for life? Petrus Ramus had the idea that pedagogy/didactics should serve to learn whatever one wants to learn more effectively and more efficiently. One should rather concentrate on learning few things, but understand and remember them for a long time. The idea is to learn the basis, from which one can then quickly develop the details as needs arise. But what is this basis? If one learns only few things, one has to choose wisely. Comenius in his Great Didactics built on Ramus’ idea, but expanded it: everybody should be enabled to learn everything in as short time as possible.
