Phänomenologie in den Abwandlungen der Reduktion und in der Fragestellung nach den Randphänomenen (der Geburt und des Todes)
Abstract Phenomenology in Alteration of Reduction and Questioning in Relation to Limit Phenomena (Birth and Death)
Husserl’s later phenomenology as well as its contemporary authors put in question the various forms of limit phenomena. This extension of phenomenological area of research into a new kind of problems brings also a discussion concerning the forms of phenomenality, of givenness and of a possible approach to these questions. This discussion is connected with so called radicalization, because the point is not only the extension of possibilities of research, but also a disruption of the foundation of phenomenological method. In the question ‘How can we think limit phenomena?’ emerges also the methodological liminal thought, or putting in question possibilities of reduction. The paper proceeds primarily from Husserl’s texts on limit phenomena (Hua XLII) and on reduction (Hua XXXIV) and from two examples of limit phenomena—birth and death. In the conclusion these questions are seen from a topographic point of view and in relation to various possibilities of phenomenology: phenomenology only as an inspirational source; or a refuse of Husserl; or possible integration of new problems into Husserlian phenomenology.
