Communication Audit in Globally Integrated R«U38»D Project Teams

A Linguistic Perspective

Series:

Justyna Alnajjar

Communication audit is a relatively new field of research, which has so far been investigated from a managerial point of view. Linguists have not yet researched it. This book summarises existing, mainly managerial, approaches to communication audits and brings to the forefront a linguistic perspective on them. It showcases that their essence is to capture and assess the actual communication behaviour of auditees. The proposed communication audit model, communication audit procedures, and linguistic form sheet can be applied and further developed by scientists interested in taking on research into communication and by practitioners who wish to conduct communication audits in practice.

Chapter 11:  Future Research Concerning Communication Audits

In this penultimate chapter, let us now turn to discuss future research into communication audits and possible research projects concerning communication audits. The ideas listed below were compiled both on the basis of observations during the research project into communication audits and literature on the subject.

1.  Communication in a communication audit team

As I mentioned in Section 1.3.3(1), communication audits can be conducted individually by a communication auditor or collectively by two or more communication auditors. If a communication audit is conducted by a team of communication auditors, this requires that communication in the audit team is controlled and assessed. It would be interesting to carry out a research project into the communication by the audit team and to find out how communication auditors communicate and how best to organise such a communication process.

2.  Internal audit team vs. external consultant(s)
