Rebuilding the Methodist Church in Austria between 1945 and 1968 Between 1938 and 1945 The Methodist Church in Austria was a part of The Methodist Church in Germany. The problem of who is the legal owner of property could be resolved in connection with the official acknowledgement of The Methodist Church in Austria by the Austrian government in 1951. Pastoral and material support of refugees resulted in two new congregations in Salzburg and Linz. Substantial care for parentless youngsters fleeing from Hungary 1956 into Austria developed into a high professional diaconal institution for children and young people with psychologically and socially problems called Zentrum Spattstraße in Linz.
