Kirchlicher Wiederaufbau in der Diözese St. Pölten (1945–1968)
After World War II, the well experienced Michael Memelauer was bishop of the diocese of St. Pölten. His work centred on pastoral care. Franz Žak, his successor, also focused on this point and tried to increase the involvement of laity. One of the most respected clerical personalities in Austria came from the diocese of St. Pölten. His name was Franz König.
