Deutscher und chinesischer Humor – Ein Vergleich
In this paper, we discuss both similarities and differences between Chinese and German jokes using a comparative research approach. Starting from the concept of Attardo und Raskin we investigated German und Chinese jokes, and found that Chinese jokes demonstrate a stronger tendency of using language ambiguities compared to the investigated German jokes. Jokes in German are usually shorter than Chinese jokes because they often appear as question-answer-forms, while the Chinese jokes are often told as stories.
Finally, we present some suggestionson how to effectively use humor in German courses for Chinese learners.
