Anforderungen ermitteln – ein Beitrag zur Diagnose und Förderung sprachlich-kommunikativer Kompetenzen
Abstract Although communicative competence is regarded as one of the most important factors for success in education, training and profession, little is known about the communicative requirements in vocational education and training (VET). The aim of a research project that is carried out by the Federal Institute for vocational education and training is to identify the oral and written requirements in the two learning venues of the German dual system of VET, companies and VET schools. A multi-method-approach is applied to determine the requirements of three selected training occupations and factors influencing them.
In this paper first results of the analyses of VET-Curricula are presented. They indicate that the curricula contain multiple references to linguistic and communicative requirements. However, their formulations are often vague. Further examinations, as for instance participant observation and qualitative interviews, need to be performed, to complete the linguistic and communicative requirements of vocational education and training.
