Rachele Antonini is Senior Lecturer in English Language and Translation at the Department of Interpretation and Translation of the University of Bologna at Forlì. She received her Ph.D on the sociolinguistics of the Irish language from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Her research interests focus on the sociolinguistics of Irish Gaelic, the perception of dubbing and subtitled humour, the teaching of oral language, and child language brokering. The results of her studies in these research fields have been published in many journal articles and book chapters. She has edited the collections Child Language Brokering: Trends and Patterns in Current Research (2010 mediAzioni special issue), and La Mediazione Linguistica e Culturale in Italia (2014 Bononia University Press).
