Lectures croisées I

Edited By Anne Begenat-Neuschäfer, Daniel Delas, Tania Celestino de Macedo and Khalid Zekri

On pense rarement l’Afrique du Nord et celle du Sud ensemble, clivage ancien ou une des multiples conséquences du regard colonial ? Vivre ensemble à une certaine distance – le freeter de Germano Almeida

Germano Almeida is one of the most prolific authors of Cape Verde. In two of his most recent novels, he searches for the history of the island of Santiago in order to reconstruct the period of the end of Creole domination over the commercial relations across the Atlantic Ocean. Almeida’s novels also lay a basis for explaining the latent discrimination against African influences in Cape Verde, showing its use in everyday behavior and conversations.
