Poesia do terceiro espaço

Lírica lusófona contemporânea

Series:

Edited By Verena Dolle and Anne Begenat-Neuschäfer

Extract

Birgit Aka

The present article discusses the manifestation of movement and the crossing of frontiers in contemporary Brazilian poetry. On the basis of poems in which voyages or places of transit are central, it will be discussed how both are functionalized for the reflection of a globalized and transcultural life. Which metapoetic considerations are linked to the images of travelling and which aesthetic elements support the representation of the transitory?

“To travel becomes the very condition of modern consciousness.”
