Contents: A literary trajectory of the Germanic Walther-Epic, as it is later cloaked in the Christian ethos and languages
of the Roman Empire, to the Gaiferos legend of the Iberian Penisula and its sister legend of «l'Escrivette,» found in France
and Northern Italy.
This study treats all three materials in detail (for the first time under one cover). Accompanying
the study is a collection of oral ballads in their original languages.
