Small Enterprise Development in Mini Island Economies: The Case of Tobago

Series:

Colin McDonald

The book examines the process of development within the small manufacturing enterprise sector in the Tobago economy. The field research for the study was conducted during 1997. The findings indicate that the fundamental constraints to growth and development within the sector are internal to the enterprises. On the other hand, the impact of the competitive environment particularly among the enterprises with an outward market orientation is found to lead to growth and expansion.
Contents: Small enterprises development - Market orientation - Entrepreneurial motivation - Product and process innovation.
