Development of Coastal and Estuarine Settlements in the Niger Delta

The Case of the Bonny Local Government Area

Prof. Winston I. Bell-Gam

The book reviews the geography of coastal and estuarine settlements of the Niger Delta and the constraints to economic and physical development. The methodology illustrates the successful application of social survey techniques and historical analysis in the examination of the problems of a specific sector, namely housing. Housing structure and distribution are appraised in the context of land-use planning and coastal zone management.
