The Chilean Short Story: Writers from the Generationof 1950 is an in depth study of trends in the Latin American short story. Particular emphasis is given to Chilean short fiction in the twentieth century. Specific chapters deal with five principal writers in the Chilean Generation of 1950: Enrique Lafourcade, Claudio Giaconi, José Donoso, Jorge Edwards, and Guillermo Blanco. An annotated bibliography provides sources for future research by scholars on this group of writers.
