El presente tomo colectivo – fruto del simposio internacional «Migración y contacto de lenguas en el siglo XXI» (Universidad de Bremen, Alemania) – posiciona la lingüística de la migración como disciplina entre la lingüística de contacto y la sociolingüística. Abarca proyectos actuales de investigación en los campos de cambio lingüístico, migración interna, contacto de lenguas y variedades lingüísticas en la diáspora.

Se enfocan casos ejemplares de contacto lingüístico en el español en América del Norte (EE. UU.) y del Sur (Ecuador, Perú y Argentina), el gallego en Alemania y en Argentina, el francés en la India, lenguas criollas de base francesa en la diáspora, la identidad lingüística cubanoamericana y el judeoespañol en Turquía.

L’ouvrage collectif – issu du symposium international « Migration et contact de langues au XXIe siècle » (Université de Brême, Allemagne) – situe la linguistique migratoire entre la linguistique de contact et la sociolinguistique. Il comprend des projets actuels de recherche dans les domaines du changement linguistique, de la migration interne, du contact de langues et des variétés linguistiques dans la diaspora.

Des études exemplaires illustrent le contact linguistique dans l’espagnol aux États-Unis d'Amérique et dans l’Amérique du Sud (l’Équateur, le Pérou, l’Argentine), le galicien en Allemagne et en Argentine, le français en Inde, des langues créoles à base française dans la diaspora, des identités linguistiques cubano-américaines et le judéo-espagnol en Turquie.

Dejar + gerundio en el castellano andino ecuatoriano1

Abstract: This article analyses the dejar + gerund construction frequently used in Highland Ecuador taking into account its syntactic, semantic and pragmatic characteristics. Throughout the analysis, it is shown how dejar + gerund displays at least two gerundial structures whose semantic readings are unknown to other Spanish varieties: (a) a temporal one as in Por favor, deje pagando ‘Would you please pay [for your laundry] in advance?’ (Lit.: ‘Would you please leave paying’), and (b) a causative as in Me dejó destrozando la muela ‘X destroyed my tooth’ (Lit.: ‘He left me destroying the tooth’.) We then move to briefly review the grammaticalization processes immersed in this construction, as well as the role the Kichwa-Spanish contact has had in accelerating such linguistic changes. Finally, it becomes evident that this emerging construction is widely used in rural and urban regions, among different socio-economic and age groups, as well as in social media and new means of communication.

The data used in this article come from different sources: 1. Samples of natural language gathered by Haboud between 1992 and 1995; 2. Data collected between May and August 2016 in different contexts such as (a) family meetings and informal conversations with monolingual CAE speakers; (b) elicitations sessions with CAE speakers and Kichwa-Spanish speakers; (c) Live TV programs where members of different communities in Quito spontaneously participate to talk...
