Summary

Eleanor of Aquitaine is one of the most familiar and least known women of the me-dieval period; she was queen of France and then queen of England, the mother of five sons and five daughters who become kings and queens in turn. These facts are uncontested. Much else about this woman remains less clear, a fog Karen Sullivan attempts to clear in this book.
