Zusammenfassung

Konrad Bitschin, town clerk of Kulm (today Chełmno in Poland) in 1432 urged resistance to heretical Hussites by insisting that more glory than blood would flow from defensive injuries incurred. Two centuries earlier, Baltic pagans had preferred words to wounds.
