O contacto entre as línguas fez surgir variações, o que atualmente se traduz numa polifonia no espaço linguístico lusófono e em cujo desenvolvimento ocorreram vários processos de transformação.

Die Beurteilung des Portugiesischen in zwei kastilischen Übersetzungen der Lusíadas von 1580

Abstract: Two Castilian translations of the Lusíadas by Luís de Camões appeared in 1580, first published in Portuguese in 1572. The article deals with the evaluation of Portuguese in the forewords to these two editions and establishes a connection with the political situation on the Iberian Peninsula at that time (the beginning of the personal union between the kingdoms of Portugal and Castile-Aragon). It follows the thesis of Dasilva (2014), according to which the Castilian translations were deliberately used to bring the prestige of the Lusíadas and the Portuguese voyages of discovery into the united Iberian Empire, with its centre in the Castilian-speaking region. The Portuguese language, which was an obstacle to unity, was discredited in the process, drawing on an existing tradition of negative evaluation of Portuguese by its own speakers.

Resümee: 1580 erschienen zwei kastilische Übersetzungen der 1572 auf Portugiesisch veröffentlichten Lusíadas von Luís de Camões. Der Artikel befasst sich mit der Bewertung des Portugiesischen in den Vorwörtern zu diesen beiden Ausgaben und stellt einen Zusammenhang zur politischen Situation auf der Iberischen Halbinsel zu dieser Zeit (Beginn der Personalunion zwischen den Königreichen Portugal und Kastilien-Aragón) her. Dabei wird der These von Dasilva (2014) gefolgt, nach der die kastilischen Übersetzungen bewusst dazu eingesetzt...
