Neues Verhältnis von Parteien und Kirche nach 1945
This Article analyses the relevant elaborations on religion and churches in party manifestos of the First Republic and the post-war decades in order to illustrate the relationship between political parties and the Catholic Church as well as the respective developments after 1945. One cannot but notice the diametrically opposed developments of the ÖVP and SPÖ in relation to the church. These are most obvious where the interests of the state and the church overlap, as is prominently the case in marriage and family legislation, which are used as an example to depict the relationship and developments in detail.
