Derived from a 2019 symposium in Tartu, New Light on Formulas in Oral Poetry and Prose presents an introduction and thirteen essays. Contributions range from Slavic to Celtic to Germanic, with the majority covering Old Norse, Old English, and runic texts. Most of the contributions add new approaches in the field or challenge old assumptions, although some better than others. Four chapters are not covered here for thematic reasons.
