The meeting topic was: Combination of the University and High school education: humanistic/classical tradition and change of perspectives in the field of education and schooling under consideration of new structures of the thinking and management strategies with regard to the challenges of the society of the next decade.

Vilija Targamadz School Culture – Education Development Assumption Annotation: The article discusses the aspect of a school culture as education de- velopment assumption. After the analysis of the main definitions of an organiza- tion culture, school culture conception was formed and a culture characteristic is provided. The coherence of the school culture and education is revealed empha- sizing the essential link – values. Empirical research analysis is provided which shows the relationship between the school culture and education. The analysis also draws a profile for the development of the relationship, using organization culture as an instrument. Key words: school culture, education, values, development. Introduction: Education is such an everyday phenomenon that hardly anyone ever thinks about the possibilities of its development. In other words, it exists everywhere – in education institutions, in profit-making organizations, in mass media, etc. In this context attention should be paid to the fact that although it ex- ists everywhere, the cultural context of the process can be always traced in it. It can be the environment of the process, but it may also become the instrument of education development. Education usually concentrates on a certain organiza- tion which has a certain culture that encodes certain values. Education also en- codes certain values in itself. If those values coincide, it is obvious that there will be fewer obstacles in the realization of education objectives. At the time of value transformation in the society, the problem of education is getting espe- cially relevant and its development possibilities are being searched....
