Der Band dokumentiert eine Reihe von Beiträgen der XX. Internationalen wissenschaftlichen Konferenz Bildungsreform und Lehrerausbildung, die vom Ministerium für Bildung und Wissenschaft der Republik Litauen, der Litauischen Universität für Bildungswissenschaften in Vilnius (LEU) und der Pädagogischen Hochschule Heidelberg – University of Education gemeinsam veranstaltet wurde. Das Hauptthema der Konferenz waren Bildungs- und Qualitätsstandards der Hochschul- und Schulbildung. Dieses Qualitätsmanagement setzt den Erwerb interaktiver Kompetenzen im Bildungs-, Erziehungs- und Sozialisationsbereich voraus, gewissermaßen als innere Kräfte für Basiskompetenzen, die die Befähigung zu Identität ermöglichen im Hinblick auf die Herausforderungen der Gesellschaft des kommenden Jahrzehnts.

Linas Jašinauskas Teachers of General Education and Their Training during the Period of “Reconstruction” of the Education System of Lithuania (1941–1944) Abstract The article focuses on tendencies in training teachers of general education in 1941–1944. After Lithuania’s occupation by the Nazi German army, the former education system that had operated during the period of the Republic of Lithuania was restored including the forms and ways of teacher training. The paper analyses the work of teacher training institutions, peculiarities and changes in the content of teacher training and presents changes in the numbers of teachers of primary and secondary schools in 1941–1944. Introduction World War II is a complex period in the history of Lithuania that still attracts atten- tion of a number of investigators. Lithuania’s occupation by Nazi Germany called off the process of sovietisation of the country launched by the Soviet Union, but the population of Lithuania had to face new challenges. The cherished hopes that the Nazis would allow Lithuanians to restore the lost statehood were destroyed. Even the first days of the occupation showed that the new owner of Lithuania was not going to act in the interests of our country but rather to use the occupied land for military purposes as soon as possible. Peaceful people of Lithuania experienced the Nazi’s repression, their various obligations, constraints and restrictions that lasted from the early days of the occupation until the end of it. Most...
