La fabrique des formes et du sens
Edited By Thierry Gallèpe
L’actualisation de l’évaluation et son effet structurant dans les critiques littéraires journalistiques
The aim of this chapter is to show how evaluation in book reviews produces characteristic forms. Evaluation is not only the literal expression of a judgment but an activity, which occurs in several levels: in the text (configuration of the hyper-structure, co-verbal semiotic material), in the language (typical expressions to express a judgement) and in the discourse (strategic configuration and intervention of different speakers). The analyses are based on a corpus of german book reviews which were published in the magazine Der Spiegel between January and June 2012. We also suppose that all those typical forms that evaluation produces contribute to the identification and definition of the text type “book review”. Or in other words: only the combination of textual, linguistic and discursive elements can define this text type.
