Port, emporium and free port: the institutions and rights in the culture of Trieste between the eighteenth and nineteenth century

Abstract. The study of economic and institutional organization have suffered a particular fold where the establishment of the free port has been a nodal passage in some phases of the modern age. Specifically, the regulatory environment, represented by commercial and maritime port law appears at this stage of particular, but very interesting, complexity during the eighteenth and nineteenth century.
