Tomorrow’s energy system needs to be more decentralized, decarbonized and democratized. The concept of Sustainable Energy thus cannot be separated from “Sustainable Future” which must also ensure that the demands of growing population and the basic human needs of the developing world are met and the main conflicts causing political/economic disputes are resolved at the global scale (Grindsted 2016).

Concerns arising from the projections made and increasing average temperatures in the atmosphere indicated by the results obtained from climate change studies, which has almost become an individual field of science, direct policy makers to take action rapidly on a global scale (Büken and Güner 2017). Within this context, with the aim to give the fastest response to climate change, the largest greenhouse gas producing sectors, sources and methods to be the focus of the actions to be taken emerges to be the most reasonable method (Cherry et al. 2018). Thus, largest greenhouse gas producers will be the commercial and industrial activities most affected by the activities carried out and planned with the aim to keep climate change under control.
