Family language policy and the English language in francophone families in France: A focus on parents’ reasons as decision-takers
In this chapter, I explore the family language policy, regarding the English language, of eleven francophone families who live in France. The research focuses on parents as decision-takers and presents the overall process of their decision-taking by analysing the reasons why they opt for English for their children. To explore this issue, informal and semi-structured interviews were conducted via Skype and two focus groups were carried out.
