Klaus-Dieter Ertler is Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Graz (Austria). His main research interests include the Francophone novel, the Jesuit Relations of New France, and Systems Theory as an epistemological tool. Patrick Imbert is Professor at the University of Ottawa and occupies a Research Chair on Canada: Social and Cultural Challenges in a Knowledge-Based Society. From 2005 to 2009 he has been director of the International American Studies Association and has been President of the Academy of Arts and Social Sciences of the Royal Society of Canada in 2009 (2009-2011). Klaus-Dieter Ertler est professeur au Département de littératures romanes de l’Université de Graz (Autriche). Ses recherches portent sur le roman francophone, les Relations des Jésuites des Amériques, la littérature latino-américaine et la théorie des systèmes comme modèle épistémologique. Patrick Imbert est professeur titulaire à l’Université d’Ottawa et a une Chaire de recherche intitulée « Canada : défis sociaux et culturels dans une société du savoir ». Il a été directeur exécutif de l’International American Studies Association (2005-2009) et a été élu Président de l’Académie des arts et des sciences humaines de la Société royale du Canada en 2009 (2009-2011).
